Post-doc position : atomic structure studies of complex materials

Professor Valeri Petkov in the Department of Physics at Central Michigan University (CMU) is seeking a post-doctoral research scientist in the area of atomic structure studies of complex materials, including ferroelectrics, layered chalcogenites, nanostructured thermoelectrics, low-dimensional perovskites, topological insulators, and others. The initial appointment is for one year, and will begin asap. An extension is possible, based on satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. The position comes with a competitive salary and benefits.

Required qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science, high-energy synchrotron x-ray diffraction, Rietveld & atomic pair distribution analysis and large-scale 3D structure modeling. Computer programming skills are highly desirable.
