The Crystallographic Information Fiesta (Naples, Italy, 29 August – 3 September 2019) is going to be a truly multi-national event. Students from several countries in Europe, Africa and Latin America have already registered and applied for a bursary.
Registrations and bursary applications will be accepted until Sunday, 19 May 2019 at
http://www.cristallografia.org/aicschool2019.
Grants covering partially or in full registration fee and travel expenses are offered by the Italian Crystallographic Association (AIC) as well as by the many supporting institutions (IUCr, ICDD, SIMP, CCDC, PDBe) and sponsors.
The School will showcase all aspects of crystallographic routine from data collection and interpretation to deposition and publication. Several IUCr bodies [IUCr Journals, IUCr Data, Committee for the Maintenance of the CIF Standard (COMCIFS), Committee on Data (CommDat), International Tables for Crystallography] and crystallographic databases (ICDD, CCDC, PDBe, ICSD, BCS) are directly involved in the organization and teaching sessions. These will include 15 hours of tutorials and two parallel streams dedicated to the crystallographic study of structures with small cell parameters (molecular and extended solids) and of macromolecules, respectively.
There is also the excellent opportunity to stay in Naples after the Crystallographic Information Fiesta for the MISCA 2019 (Meeting of the Italian and Spanish Crystallographic Associations), starting on 4 August 2019.
