Dear colleagues, partners and friends,

The registration and bursary application for the HOT TOPICS IN CONTEMPORARY CRYSTALLOGRAPHY 2018 (HTCC2018) are now open. HTCC2018 will be held in the delightful town of Bol, on the island of Brač, Croatia, from Sep. 23 to 27, 2018. It is the third installment in a series of highly successful advanced crystallography workshops organized by the Croatian Association of Crystallographers and generously supported by Bruker AXS, our golden partner.
The three hot topics to be tackled this year are:

Crystallography under extreme conditions (HT1)
Total scattering and PDF analysis of complex materials (HT2), and
Dynamical crystallography (HT3)

We are proud to have some of the leading experts in these fields onboard. Extreme conditions will be covered by Elena Boldyreva, Simon Parsons and Michael Probert. Simon Billinge, Emil Bozin and Matthew Tucker shall talk about the total scattering and PDF analysis. Last but not the least, Christian Bressler and Michael Först will introduce the dynamical crystallography. All topics will be covered by combination of introductory lectures and interactive activities.
Once upon the time just a charming Mediterranean fisherman village with yet another magic beach nearby, Bol grew, over the recent decades, to an enchanting destination where traditional Mediterranean life goes hand in hand with the modern tourist industry. Immaculately pristine waters, The Golden cape beach, traditional cuisine based on the fresh domestic products and fish, excellent wines and unique Dalmatian hospitality will all be there for you. We in the Croatian Association of Crystallographers are very much looking forward to host you in Bol.
Until then, sincerely,

Aleksandar Visnjevac
