Accommodations in Pavia
Participants will be hosted into one of following EDISU University Colleges in Pavia:
Collegio Maino, Viale Gorizia 87, Pavia. The college is situated in the city center, at walking distance (about 15 min) from the main lecture rooms (Directions) and about 20 minutes from the train station (Directions) Collegio Cardano, Viale Resistenza 15, Pavia. The college is situated in the city centre, at walking distance (about 20 min) from the main lecture rooms (Directions) and about 30 minutes from the train station (Directions) Collegio Volta, Via Ferrata 17, Pavia. The college is situated in the university science campus, about 30 minutes walking from the train station (Directions). From the college, it takes about 40 minutes if you want to walk to reach the main lecture rooms (Directions). If you are staying in Collegio Volta, we will provide bus tickets on your arrival to reach the collegio during your stay
How to reach Pavia
Being situated on the railway connecting Milan to Genoa and very close to the motorways A7 (Milano-Genova; exit Bereguardo-Pavia Nord) and A21 (Torino-Piacenza; exit Broni-Stradella), Pavia is very well connected and easy to reach. Click on the map to get a bigger version.
Arriving by Plane
If you arrive at Linate airport, the easiest way to reach Pavia is to take the direct shuttle bus (duration: 50-60 minutes). Alternatively, you can take bus 73 to Milan Porta Vittoria railway station and take the light rail to Pavia, or take a bus to Milano centrale railway station, it takes about 20 minutes. From Milan’s central railway station, you can take a train to Pavia (see below).
If you arrive at Malpensa airport, you can take a train or a shuttle bus to Milano centrale or Milano Bovisa railway stations (duration: 50 minutes). Then take the train or light rail.
If you arrive at Orio al Serio airport, you can take a shuttle bus to Milan’s central railway station (duration: 50 minutes). From Milan central station, you can take a train to Pavia.
Arriving by Train
Most European cities are connected to Milan railway stations by direct trains. From Milano centrale railway station you can find direct trains to Pavia (direction Genova). The train ride from Milano to Pavia takes about 30 minutes. See http://www.trenitalia.com for timetables and to purchase tickets. You can also find direct connections to Pavia through light rail at Milano Bovisa, Milano Porta Garibaldi, and Milano Porta Vittoria train stations (trains every 30 minutes).
Arriving by Car
From Milano or from Genova, follow highway A7 (pay toll), exit at Bereguardo-Pavia Nord, and continue for 10 kilometres on a free highway straight to Pavia. From East (Brenner tunnel), follow indications to A21 Piacenza-Torino (pay toll), exit at Broni-Stradella, and proceed for about 15 kms to reach Pavia center. From West (France), follow indications to A21 Torino-Piacenza (pay toll), then follow indications to Milano on A7, and exit at Bereguardo-Pavia Nord.
