The DEADLINE for bursary application of the 1st joint AIC-SIMP school is TOMORROW, May 15th 2013. People intending to apply must submit the request, following the instruction on the website, as soon possible, since this
deadline WILL NOT be extended.

The school deals with phase stability and transformations, with particular attention to materials texture, studied by theoretical and experimental methods, at the borderline of chemistry, earth science, materials science and engineering.
The school schedule is organized in lectures during the first day and during the mornings of the following days, whilst tutorials on universally used software’s in the field will be given in the two afternoon sessions. The students can choose two out of the three following tutorials:
– MTEX, for texture analysis, mainly from electron diffraction data
– MAUD, for texture analysis, mainly from X-ray and neutron diffraction data
– QUALX, for the qualitative analysis by X-ray powder diffraction data
