Cordiali saluti,
Consiglia Tedesco

Special issue of Structural Chemistry honoring Professor Aldo Domenicano

Dear Friends,
We are pleased to inform you that next year a special issue of Structural Chemistry will be published, honoring Professor Aldo Domenicano on the occasion of his 75th birthday. We cordially invite you to submit manuscripts – either original research or review – directly to either of us, who are acting as Guest Editors. The papers will be subjected to the usual review procedure, and, once accepted for publication, they will be sent to Structural Chemistry for processing without further review. The topic of your contribution is your choice. The journal considers structural chemistry very broadly (with the stipulation excluding routine studies). Timely critical reviews would be as much welcome as regular research papers.
All manuscripts should be submitted as attachments by e-mail. In the covering letter you should list up to five names (with affiliation and address) of potential Reviewers. Please adhere to the requirements of Structural Chemistry as far as style, etc. is concerned. Please also note that Structural Chemistry does not publish mere structure reports (see below).
The deadline for submission is November 30, 2012. Early submission is encouraged in order to extend the period during which reviewing of the submissions will be carried out.
With kind regards,
Anna Rita Campanelli and Fabio Ramondo

Information on the scope of the journal

– Offers peer-reviewed original research papers on condensed and gaseous states of matter
– Spans artificial divisions in current literature among the areas of structure determination, energetics, and applications, and builds a bridge to other chemical disciplines
– Offers broad discussion of results, observation of relationships among various properties, and applications of structure and energy information in all domains of chemistry
Coverage includes techniques for the determination of structure and energetics, their results, and the conclusions derived from these studies. We welcome the broadest range of accounts of research in structural chemistry involving the discussion of methodologies and structures, experimental, theoretical, and computational, and their combinations. We encourage discussions of structural information collected for their chemical and biological significance.
However the following structure report submissions are not encouraged: accounts of crystal and molecular structures from diffraction techniques or reports of spectra and their assignments (if they do not contain meaningful discussions of structures and energetics or comparisons with related systems).
Specifically, submissions that do not show the chemical or biological significance of the structural information collected are not suitable for submission to Structural Chemistry.
